How Do Ford Hybrids Work?

Traditional hybrid vehicles have been around for a long time. They are closer to a gas vehicle in the way that you drive and refuel. Ford hybrid vehicles have a gas engine and an electric motor that provides support in high RPM situations such as idling or stop-and-go traffic to reduce fuel consumption. How Do Ford PHEVs Work?

Plug-in hybrid vehicles also have a gas engine and one or two electric motors that run off much larger batteries than traditional hybrids. The powerful battery pack can provide an electric-only driving mode for short distances or combine gas and electricity to boost power levels. When the battery runs out, the vehicle operates like a traditional hybrid until the driver can plug in and regain the electric-only range.

How Do Ford Electric Vehicles Work?

Ford electric vehicles have no gas engine. The electric motors run off powerful battery packs that provide around 300 miles of range per charge. When the batteries become depleted, owners need to plug in at home or a public charging station to charge up the battery packs and regain the necessary miles of range. Ford electric vehicles are capable of fast charging, allowing you to regain hundreds of miles in 30 minutes to an hour.
