The powerful battery pack can provide an electric-only driving mode for short distances or combine gas and electricity to boost power levels. When the battery runs out, the vehicle operates like a traditional hybrid until the driver can plug in and regain the electric-only range.

How Do Ford Electric Vehicles Work?
Ford electric vehicles have no gas engine. The electric motors run off powerful battery packs that provide around 300 miles of range per charge. When the batteries become depleted, owners need to plug in at home or a public charging station to charge up the battery packs and regain the necessary miles of range. Ford electric vehicles are capable of fast charging, allowing you to regain hundreds of miles in 30 minutes to an hour.
